Dr. Bill Jones is the chancellor of Columbia International University. He was previously the sixth president of CIU, serving in that role from 2007 to 2017. He also serves as chair of the International Leadership Team of Crossover Communications International, an organization he cofounded in 1987. Crossover works to plant churches among unreached people groups.

A passionate communicator, Jones has spoken to thousands of people around the world. He has also authored several books including, Putting Together the Puzzle of the Old Testament and Putting Together the Puzzle of the New Testament.

Jones graduated summa cum laude with a chemistry degree from Georgia Institute of Technology and holds earned doctorates from both Columbia Biblical Seminary & School of Missions (now Columbia International University Seminary & School of Ministry) and Gordon-Conwell seminary.

In 1979, he married Debby Jones who holds a master’s degree in Christian Education from CIU. She speaks at women’s conferences and coauthored a book on 10 character qualities titled Lady in Waiting. Bill and Debby have four grown children.
